We
saw Hole at the Sunrise Musical Theatre in Sunrise, Florida. The theater
was only fifteen minutes away, which was good, because that gave me 30
minutes to get ready. Dan and Kristin met us in the parking lot, and we
socialized outside for about an hour. Then, we wandered inside to catch
the last song from the opening act, an unknown girl band. Remaining at
our seats, we talked, munched popcorn and drank beer for nearly an hour
before Courtney and her band came out. She was in a foul mood, a pink
leather skirt and a silk top. Her guitarist, a tall, thin girl with bushy
brown hair, wore a Vikings helmet. I remember I felt impressed that a
woman was running the show. She looked powerful. But she was also bitchy.
Courtney said she almost canceled the show because of a hassle getting
there and a sore throat, which would have pissed me off because the tickets
weren't cheap. She complained about an Orlando lawsuit from a fan's parents,
which had nothing to do with us in South Florida, but she stated it as
her reason for hating it here. She played for only an hour, but did include
her well known favorites, including "Doll Parts." I don't know
the titles of the others, but I recognized most of the songs. I think
we have her CD. I probably would have not gone to this concert, except
that Eric had planned it with our friends and I didn't dislike the band.
Eric bought me a black fishing cap with the band's name embroidered in
hot pink - Hole. He also bought himself a t-shirt.
