Zeta Fest

Featuring Stabbing Westward

July 5, 1998

This show took place on a warm grassy knoll beneath the expressway - Next time 94.9 Zeta (the local radio station) throws a concert, I hope it's not in the summer. Through sweltering heat, we trekked several miles from the parking lot to the front gate. Inside, water was expensive but necessary to prevent exhaustion. The mist tent was not the expansive refuge we anticipated, rather it was a single hose serving a long line of overheated patrons beneath a small canopy. It turned most of the park into a muddy puddle, and it was only a short time before people started throwing mud at each other. Several bands played, but I only remember Stabbing Westward.
